Republican Debate

Post by MorGrendel »

I wasen't going to watch the debate, my guy averages 89 seconds of air time over two hours. Rather, I thought, I'll clear out feral ghouls in a Fallout vault. Then I found myself doing both.

I was struck immediately, when I saw the order was Mitt, Newt, and then Ron (OMG he's on camera). I turned to Missy and said, "what is Ron doing in the center?" I learned later that the polls show Iowa Newt 22%, Ron 21%, and Mitt 16%. But, moreover, they talked to him, a lot! Sure, they showed Newt reacting (or Michele when she got into it with Ron over Iran), but that was fine, because they let him rebutt rebuttles. He actally got the last word in a few times.

Last night, I was on cloud nine. I thought he stole the show. I loved watching the Fox News anchors stumble when they thought they had him, and he divorced himself from their premise all together. Bret's exasperated botoxed face after "Iran has a nuke" blew up in his face has to be one of the best reactions of all time (The bing is your friendly reminder). You can skip to 8:30; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhbGL3F8r4c Please do, he's the only canidate espousing a anti-war rhetoric.
