Do mine eyes deceive me? Looks like the US gov't made a 55 billion surplus in the month of January! Whaaaaat?

I want to believe it is the dip in gas prices gave people more money to spend or that the bump in the interest rate means the fed is paying the banks less, but the article suggests, "Increased receipts of individual and social insurance taxes contributed to the surplus".

So more taxes and more people actually paying them . . . Growth.

Yeah, so it seems. I wonder if this is just a month fluke, or if it will continue in future months. Probably won't.
