The Galatian Equation

Post by MorGrendel »

The Galatian Equation

Bodies + Event Length - Rain - Distance = Attendance chance (#*10=%)

B = GG + DAN + W((GM + K)/2) + (W-DO)
E = (LE+D-(T/GG)) * (HM*EF/100)
R = (((HR/100) * HH)/24) - ((100-LR)/100 * HL)/24) - (BF/24) + DR + (PR/10)
D = ((M/20 *CG)+L)

GG = Galatians confirmed going (not including Dan and Serban)
GM = Galatians who may be going (Serban is always considered a GM, even if he is confirmed)
DAN = If Dan buckled in a vehicle, then DAN = 1
DO = Number of Galatians definitely out
W = Number of Warlords expected to attend
K = See Kaliban Worksheet
GF = Number of girl friends going (I haven’t fit this in yet, but I know it is a factor)
M = How far away the event is in miles
L = See Location Worksheet
CG = Cost of Gas over $2.00
D = Number of days at event
LE = Number of complete weeks since last event, can not exceed 8.
T = Tents to set up and take down
HM = Hours of melee
EF = Estimated number of fighters
DR = If raining while driving to event, DR = 2 otherwise DR= 0
HR = Highest percentage of rain
HH = Hours at highest percentage of rain
LR = Lowest percentage of rain
HL = Hours at lowest percentage of rain
BF = Hours that the percentage of rain is less than 50%
PR = Percentage of rain when packing up tent. If T = 0, then PR = 0.

Kaliban Worksheet
K = Number of Galatians that need an armor repair minus all Galatians that have been knocked out by the hammer. If the whereabouts of Kaliban are unknown, then K = 0

Location Worksheet
L = 0

Last Hedgehog practice = 72% Chance
B: 10 = (4 + 1 + 0 -0) * 2
E: 1.2 = (2+1-0) + (2*20/100)
R: 2.5 = (1.5 – 1 + 2 + 0)
D: 1.5 = ((45/20 *1.35) (-)1.5)

Fall War 09 = Edit: still working
B: 24 = (6 + ((2 + 0)/2)+ DAN (– (2-3)) * 3)
E: 6.799 = (1+2-(1/6)) * (4*60/100)
R: -48 = ((0/100) * 48) - ((100-0)/100 * 48) + 0 + (0/10)
D: 3.4 = ((54/20 *1.63)-1)

OK, It's not perfect yet. In my head a 10(ish) should be the best or worst possible outcome, since it multiplies by 10 ath the end . . . . funny how easy it went together though.

Right, first off this is hilarious, however... math...

How do you determine the value for W when DAN is a W?? is that whole second part of B determined by multiplying by DAN as in = its *1 if Dan goes and = to 0 if not? Or do you mean for the W to be multiplyed by the whole thing at the end?

So this parts for Jeff, a critique of your math because its not quite correct, I hope this is helpful, its not meant to be mean. Order of operation is critical in these kinds of equations.

I belive this would denote the total value times the Warlords going. But this must be what you meant because you had an odd # of parenthesises in your original? Algebra geometry and logic section of math class? I remember if this then that.
B =(GG + ((GM + K)/2) + DAN (– (DO-W)))W
Which happens to be different from what you've got there.

B: 24 = (6 + ((2 + 0)/2)+ DAN (– (2-3)) * 3) To Illustrtate
..........(6 + ((2)/2) + 0(-1(2-3))*3)
...........(6 + ((1)) + 0 (-1(-1))*3)
...............(((6+1)) + 0 ((1))*3)
.................(7 + 0) =7 =B Here is where is the ) was on the iside not outside of the 3 you'd multiply by the three afterwards to get your larger # (24 if DAN =1 if DAN = 0 then 21)

If (DAN =1) Then
B: 24 = (6 + ((2 + 0)/2)+ DAN (– (2-3)) * 3)
.........(6 + ((2)/2) + 1(-1(2-3))*3)
..........(6 + ((1)) + 1 (-1(-1))*3)
..............(((6+1)) + 1 ((1))*3)
..................(7 + 3 ) = 10=B So this time where the ) where I sugjest you'd get your anser of 24 as in (7+1) *3 aposed to 7 + 1*3

B =(GG + ((GM + K)/2) + DAN (– (DO-W)))W
...........(6 + ((2)/2) + 1(-1(2-3)))3
...........(6 + ((1)) + 1 (-1(-1)))3
...............(((6+1)) + 1 ((1)))3
...................(7 + 1 ) * 3
......................... 8*3=24
of course if DAN = 0 then its 7*3 = 21 because you would multiply the 1 by the 0 before you add it to the 7. Or is DAN just ommitted if not=1

As you've got it a Value for DAN can only have no difference or make the second grouping = 0. did you mean DAN + (-(D)-W)) aposed to DAN (– (DO-W)) As far as I can tell thats the only way thats practical since multiplying by one does nothing. If you did mean DAN + not DAN * then your answer again is different. in the 1+1 = 2, 7+2 =9 9*3=27 theirfor FAll War B=27 fasion

now as for E
E: 42.6 = (1+2-(1/6)) * (4*60/100)
huh?
1/6 about= .16666
3- .16666 about =2.833
and
4*60=240
240/100= 2.4
soooo
2.833 * 2.4 = 6.799
I have no idea where that 42.6 came from - maybe i missed something

W = Number of Warlords expected to attend . . . If Dan says he plans to attend you can count him as part of W. Consider it Warlord Mojo. Titus isn't quite there, but the Dan balances that out in the long run.
However, since he can never be counted towards GG he must be added separately once he is actually buckled into a vehicle. If he is not buckled in, then DAN = 0.
Rachel wrote:is that whole second part of B determined by multiplying by DAN as in = its *1 if Dan goes and = to 0 if not? Or do you mean for the W to be multiplyed by the whole thing at the end?
W multiplies the whole of the equation to the left. Though the more I look at it W should probably not effect GG as they are Galatians already going.

I'm sure the Math is right, it is the eqaution that's wrong :) And I don't mind the critique.
2.833 * 2.4 = 6.799

Nope that is the result I wanted. I messed up. Like I said I was trying to make 10 like a perfect score. Thanks

Getting closer. Since we did not decide to go to Hedgehog practice until 4:00pm on Friday the 37% is way more accurate (though may still be high), and since we've never missed a Fall War a near 200% chance seems logical. Maybe every 100% allows our plan to survive despite one major kabash.

BF = Hours that the percentage of rain is less than 50%

B = GG + DAN + W((GM + K)/2) + (W-DO)
E = (LE+D-(T/GG)) * (HM*EF/100)
R = (((HR/100) * HH)/24) - ((100-LR)/100 * HL)/24) - (BF/24) + DR + (PR/10)
D = ((M/20 *CG)+L)

Last Hedgehog practice = 37.2%
B: 6 = 4 + 0 + 2(2/2) + (2-2)
E: 1.2 = (2+1-0) + (2*20/100)
R: 1.98 = (((60/100) * 2)/24) - ((100-40)/100 * 1)/24) - (1/24) + 2 + (0/10) (ex. .05 - .025 - .041 + 2 +0)
D: 1.5 = ((45/20 *1.35) (-)1.5)

Fall War 09 = 173.9%
B: 10 = 6 + 0 + 3((2 + 0)/2) + (3-2)
E: 6.79 = (1+2-(1/6)) * (4*60/100)
R: - 4 = (((0/100) * 48)/24) - ((100-0)/100 * 48)/24) - (48/24) + 0 + (0/10)
D: 3.4 = ((54/20 *1.63)-1)
