Sunday Practices

Sunday Practice is at my house starting at 1:00 PM
Before we fight, as advertised, we will try two circuits: Exercise and Fighting. We may do each circuit multiple times depending on time and endurance.

Exercise Circuit:
Bar row – Squat into Upright Row
Mountain climbers – Elevate arms, lift knees to chest
Gear toss – Toss and catch weight, transition into Squat
Curls/Situps – Depends what we can find
Raised pushups
5x20sec Runs

Fighting Circuit: (note: These are generally slow work, designed to enhance muscle memory. I have given the names so as to remove the ambiguity of the exercise)
Circle Step Kata (Whirlpool): Practice side to side blocking and getting legs out of the way.
Dodge Kata (Shadow): Avoid blows without blocking
Counterstriking Kata: (Saber) Block, then counterstrike
Square Strike Kata (House): 4 strike combination in an X pattern.
Low Press Kata (Armadillo): Moving a defender off his/her spot.
Ranges Kata: (Boxer): Practice throwing shots at 3-5 ranges.

In melee, I’d like to practice Limited Front, with a focus on pulse charges.

Afterward, we relax, order food, and sit around a fire.

Good Day, Jeff.

What is this all about? I thought I come over shoot a couple arrows, talk about the role of CA, Maybe swing a stick once or twice if I got real ambitious, nah. Then we would have a couple beers and go out to eat. You want to get all hot and sweaty and have a real practice. What is going on, next thing you know we will be setting up our own day shade at events rather then just crowding into someone else's. Wait didn't we do that last year? Are we trying to become a respectable household with banners flying :)

The first day of gym class I walked up to my instructor . . . err, coach . . . and said, "You made me sweat my own sweat." He didn't get it.

I don't know about respectable, I don't think that is possible (although Loki is moving away). I consider this an experiment.

Besides, what's a phoenix without change? Don't say a sweaty bird.

I think I am out. Still feeling the effects of the groin pull from last friday. I should be ready the following week for the our practice with Black Spear. At least that is the plan/hope. Was anyone going to get in contact with Rome and invite them. We could have a sweet practice with one or two more groups. wolfshaven, other bog troops might be inclined to come if asked. Just a thought.

I have to study and write papers, so I don't want to give up my sunday waiting for people to show, that never show. [not meant to sound snarky]

Thomas, you should still come. You are another set of Galatian eyes and can always see what we might want to work on. Also you can marshel so we can do timed resurrections and such.

I am stuck at work during peak hours, could someone please call people i.e. Dan, so he can talk to our newbies to see if they would come. Apparently Kevin is not going to lend me his shield so I am not going to be fighting that weapon until I get one I like.

Worse comes to worse, we could just work out. I could bring over your P90x and we do the Polymetrics work out.
