No Storvik Monday Practice Feb 13

There will be no Storvik Monday practice tomorrow, Feb 13. No armored
fighter practice, no rapier practice, no music, and no dance practice. The
church we use for practice, St. Andrews in College Park, participates in a
“warm nights” rotating homeless shelter during the winter months. This week
is the week St. Andrews hosts the shelter. The hall we rent will be used for
a homeless shelter all week and is not available to us for our Monday
practice on February 13. This is pretty much the only week during the year
that the Storvik practice is cancelled not through our own choice. As
reasons go for having to cancel a practice, this one ranks pretty high on my
list of honorable and good reasons. Since the Storvik Monday practice has
been so stable for so many years, I know many people simply show up on a
Monday if they live far away from Storvik, but find themselves in our area
on a Monday night or find themselves with extra time to travel on a Monday
evening. For this reason, please cross post where appropriate so no one
travels to Storvik tomorrow for a practice to find it not happening. The
Storvik Practice resumes the following Monday, Feb 20, as normal.
