Order of the Vailiance - New peerage - Lets hope

Support peerage recognition for those that excel in the skills of target archery, combat archery, thrown weapons, siege or equestrian.



Have you written to the BoD in support of the Valiance Proposal yet? Have you personally asked your friends to do the same? Please, if you have not, do it today. Send your letter to directors@sca.org.
Here are some talking points to share:




1: The text of the proposal can be found at http://endlesshills.net/valianceproposal.pdf.


2: The participants in our activities are happy to share one peerage in recognition for our martial skills, just as the Laurelate shares one omnibus peerage for all arts activities.


3: There are 13,183 authorized heavy and rapier fighters combined. There are 14,410 authorized or active (not all of our activities require authorization) in the omnibus activities. There will be crossover between all of these - there are heavy fighters who ride, and archers who fence, but no matter how you look at it, we are strong in numbers and not a minority.


4: This peerage will close the gap, giving every activity practiced in the SCA a potential path to peerage.


5: The omnibus activities like archery and thrown are easy for newcomers to start, and provide a significant growth opportunity for SCA membership.



Be polite, and ask that the proposal as written be passed. Every voice counts, from the newest member or non-member to the highest ranking peers.
