Re: practice (c'mon guys!)
Good Day, All.
Sorry, but it looks as if I will not be able to make practices for the next couple of weeks. V-Dot has make a proposal to put an off ramp off of 395 thru a section of the Preserve. We just learned about this late last week. We have schedualed meetings with numerous local groups to get this proposal dropped. So I have many meetings to go to and much to do until dec 12 when there is a public hearing.
Sincerely
Thomas

Re: practice (c'mon guys!)
I think he probably told you this by now but Jeff and I sorted threw loaner gear and put some kits together, you also already have my body armor to wear- even without the plastic fix the leather inside is sufficent for safety. In addition to the gear in Jeffs garage I have quite a bit of extra I will be bringing. We could meet at Jeff and Missys around 4pm wensday to get the gear fitted to you ahead of time. If so, I will bring some supplies to put straps on that body armor. Either or both of you if your free, I get done with school at 3:45 and tend to stay in the area between then and practice.
The real question is, if Thomas isn't there, who with good aim is going to shoot you so you know what its like...
Thomas,
Sorry to hear you can't make it, I'm with Doug, if we can help just say so.

Good Day, doug & Rachel
Not sure what you can do since your not city of alexandria residents, but thank you very much for your kind offer. My voice was raw last night for all the phone calls I made yesterday. Since I don't talk that much anyway it didn't take long. We have got lots of support from local groups. I was at a community meeting last night and they are going to go door to door in the area. We also have all of our schools which are going to start sending stuff home with their students. plus we have all our campers and thier parents many of which are local celebrities. Some of the surrounding bussiness are helping out also. We are even trying to get in the alexandria parade dressing kids up as endangered species saying save the Preserve. So we really are getting our ducks line up, and getting a good response. But we are fighting the fed gov, DoD (bract), V-dot and the vice mayor of alexandria. Only time will tell. once we get by the cities public hearing it will go to the state (V-dot) and then the Fed (DoD bract). I only hope that the groups that are lining up now with us will stay for the long hall.
Sincerely
Thomas

Rachel -- Should kiara and I still come to practice tomorrow to get gear and such? I can't make it to practice until 5:30 or 6 because of my GIGANTIC commute. However, maybe we could get all get together on sunday for a more focused effort to get kiara and I going? Let me know what you all think.
Thomas -- I second kiara, let us know when your going to be there or maybe we can arrange a time that is better for all of us to get started.
Gotta run,
Ula

Re: practice (c'mon guys!)
It is a good idea to put on armor before you actualy start so you can get it fitted (as best as possible for loaner gear) to you. "armor bites" from poorly fitted armor can be more painful then stick hits, with luck (and effort) we can avoid that for you. Ideally helmets should be padded to fit your head as well. this process of getting your armor right takes awhile and may need more then one go. Even when you can't play it never hurts to come to practice, it can help develop tactics and battlefield awareness, in fact even if you can't shoot at this one you can still get in armor and practice staying behind our line (thats going to be key to avoid being hit as much as possible:) I went and watched for a good 6 months before I ever got in armor (because I couldn't get ahold of gear that fit.) So it is up to you, I would recomend coming. This weekends not good for me, but in the future we can defanatly do something like that if need be.
