Practice Review (Rockin)

Post by Rachel »

I am sorry for those of you (everyone) who missed this practice it was fantastic. There where a lot of archers there including at least one who had not shot before and they were included in every senario. There was also a nice high turnout of women fighters, I always enjoy that. This practice was good for skill, tactics, and unit cohesion, they even had seige working (against everyone haha -we should think about making one of those.. mercenary seige machine would be sweet & probably fetch a pretty penny to boot). Also they fed us a nice lunch of bread meat and cheese and had all the water and pickles we wanted.

BUT the best thing about it is I borrowed a hand full of arrows from Shamus, and Gregor said he would come out to our practice to help train our new archers, I got his e-mail and told him I'd write him when we actualy have one planned that IS going to happen. Of course we continue to be privileged and lucky to have Thomas with us to aid and train our archers as they move up the ranks, though with his current perdicament I would not want to put even more pressure on him right now.

This was a fighting practice, barly any standing and talking, and the only bit of that was going over engagement rules which I found very helpful. If and when they have another one I'd really recomend it this was more fun then most wars I've been to and everyone was so friendly as well.

I did send them a missive with an apology for our poor turn out, and asked them to kep us in the loop should thet do it again. Glad it was fun. I JUST got done, nearly 11 hours of instruction. SUCKS.

BLAH!!!! So in fixing the floor we broke a pipe from the hot water heater and spent most of the day removing said heater, laying down new floor and reinstalling the heater and finding out that it still is leaking. I have to go back after church tomorrow to finish fixing the plumbing before we can fix the floor.
