Please forgive my somber tone, but is there any concern? Was it an excessive hit or a fluke of nature? Kaliban, my friend, I mean no disrespect. I take you as a solid fighter with only honorable intentions. I do not believe your motivation is to hurt but to fight hard and honorable. However, I expect that if a fighter in knocked the f*#& out - there should be some discussion of the appropriateness of the hit. By definition, if the Knockout was caused by the hit, then it was excessive. If by the table - it was a mistake.
Please forgive my direct nature,
Finn

eh, we made sure fritz was movin... And the shot itself was intended for his shield, not his head. Another weapon ended up lowering the shield a couple inches which made kaliban's weapon hit fritz in the head.

There has been a great deal of discussion over it and even Fritz said the shot doesn't look that hard. So the general feeling is that it is a fluke. Now when I watch the whole video it sure looks like the bottom strap of Fritz' helmet is undone, maybe that has something to do with it. anyone else notice that?

I think that's actually just the helmet being moved down that much.

Rachel, I had not noticed it before, good eye. I have to say that not having your chin strap secured can greatly increase the chance of the helmet bottoming out on you in a way that was never intended. You even see Fritz take a shot a bit before the knock out that seems to rattle him a bit, possibly the trama adding to the later knock out blow. Now as far as powerwise, it is hard for me to judge, though I will agree it seems light. I must point out that earlier in the video Fritz and Bill do discuss a hammer blow, so I do not find it unreasonable to believe that Bill may have pushed up the power level. Hammers are funny weapons, and they take advantage of the fulcrum a great deal easier than glaives do.
MOngo, no one aims for the shield. Especially, if you are fighting left-handed. Bill is in complete control of his shot, it comes well after the shield has been struck and Fritz has reacted. It does not drive through, but comes back after landing.
Fritz, by what I can tell, the shot lands center-right, above your eye line coming from your right side. Following the shine it looks like you may turn your face right into the blow.
I know I have knocked out someone with a shot that I thought was a light shot, and have always chalked it up to the fact I hit his knock out trigger. In boxing and MMA some of those blows that look like they have no power are in fact a fighter searching for their opponent's knock out button. You can train them to be less effective, but they never go away. Now I wonder if that guy had previously taken a blow that left him a touch away from a knock out. Very interesting. I know my brain is a little scrambled, maybe we should keep a little better eye on one another.

Hey Fritz, how's the neck? Don't let them pressure you into fighting again until you feel you're up to it!

My neck is fine and no my knee isnt broken. Somebody threw a low shot that came down on my armor weird. It was stiff for 2 days and it's fine now. Chris took a hammer to the guy's ribs to make up for it =)

No disresspect taken .. when fighting freinds i usually keep the power level down as it is a practice .. If anyone was concerned that day it was me ..
I am careful when i use my weapons doesnt matter what it is ... flail hammer great sword pole arm . . I know what damage i can cause because i understand the physics behind power an what my body can generate .. I have only knocked out 3 people that i know of in 12 years ... hell i have had my brain rattled ... If i fight at high power levels it is not by my choice but the person i am fighting .
